In November 2001, we opened a new truck wash in San Antonio, Texas called "Charlie's Old-Fashioned Truck Wash." It is an all new concept for us, featuring hand washing and towel drying. The new facility is located on I-10 just off Exit 583 at Foster Road, next to a Flying J Truck Stop. I would like to invite all of you to come down and give us a try!

We developed this new concept truck wash to serve those customers who prefer to have their trucks hand washed and towel dried and who are willing to spend the little extra time and money required.

When I started Blue Beacon back in 1973, most truck washes across the country offered a hand wash. At that time, many of the existing truck washes tended to be poorly managed and poorly maintained. It was common for customers to wait several hours in line before being served. What I heard consistently from drivers was that they wanted a good quality wash at a well-maintained facility that could get them in and out in a reasonable amount of time. We designed Blue Beacon to meet those needs. Blue Beacon was well received by drivers, and thanks to your faithful patronage, we have been successful and have grown to be the largest truck wash chain.

Despite the success we have enjoyed at Blue Beacon, we have long recognized that many drivers still want and are willing to spend extra time and money to have their trucks hand washed and towel dried. For this reason, we developed "Charlie's Old-Fashioned Truck Wash" as a separate company with its own identity. Blue Beacon will continue to serve the many thousands of drivers that prefer a fast, high-pressure, touchless wash. At the same time, Charlie's will be there to serve those customers who want their trucks hand washed and towel dried.
